It is on days like today that I think perhaps I should keep a summer diary. It might be hilarious. It could very well be pathetic. It most definitely would not be dull. I'm pretty sure it would be therapeutic. If the few people who follow my blog have any strong opinions on the matter, now would be a good time to say your piece. Otherwise, I will assume that nobody much cares one way or the other, and I will go ahead with whatever decision suits my fancy.
See, in the space of the past hour or two...Luke accidentally (?) broke an egg outside. He tossed the shell, mixed water with the goo and proclaimed he invented "snot." Great. Somehow, it ended up in Joshua's hair and so he will definitely need a bath tonight.
Luke also managed to spill a full carton of yogurt, which cascaded down the fridge, onto his feet, and all over the rug. Thankfully, he is big enough to clean up his own messes pretty well.
Drew scratched Luke's arm for no apparent reason, at which Luke cracked a Zooble on Drew's head to see if it would make the toy spring to life. I was easy on Drew, since he got four booster shots this morning at the doctor. (And he was such a champ, not moving a muscle even though he was crying.) My "bad mom" moment happened this morning. We were waiting at the doctor's office, and Drew said, "My tummy hurts." I asked what he had for breakfast. "I didn't have any today." Now, I don't know that he ever skipped breakfast before....but of course it was on the very day we saw the doctor.
Kate is parading around with the lonely black duckling wrapped in a shawl, much like an African mama carries her baby. I do hope "Cloudy" is the hardy type.
I snuck away from supper prep to document these happenings....but duty calls me back to buttering corn-on-the-cob (the first we've had this year). Plus, Josh just dumped a cup of water on the table and is splashing in it, so I should probably clean that up.
I approve. :-)
